ANEW2-April 25

The inaugural Zoom Women's Ministry ANEW2 gathering was attended by 19. We were from NW and SE and from in between. Lisa Bortner, Prov. 7 ECW chair, joined us, too. Remember we'll have a second gathering on May 23 with Dean Kristi Maulden as our leader.
We visited, heard a presentation by Cindy, and shared ideas for ministry in this uncertain COVID19 time. You can watch the PowerPoint video of the presentation here (I forgot to record it while we were live-sorry).

Here are some of the ideas we shared.
•Praying with one another on the phone (phone tree)
•Worship ‘virtually’ with your church on Sunday and weekdays
•Bible and/or book studies online, like St. Mark’s, ABQ
•Support Food Pantries, St. Martin’s, etc. with Box breakfasts &/or hygiene kits and Masks
•Responding to Navajoland needs by Donations via Diocese to send food to Navajoland, National ECW grant possibility (https://www.ecwnational.org/), a Book drive (now and/or later)
•Prayers: remembering the emotional part of being sick - being alone and afraid
•Remembering hospital workers are called to become chaplain as well as medical
•Admit our own emotional response to this uncertain and unsettling time
•Advocate for continuing care and love of the ‘least’ even after the threat eases
•Know DRG Coronavirus response: https://drgresponds.squarespace.com/
