ANEW2: God in Uncertain Times with Dean Kristi Maulden

Thanks to the Very Rev. Kristi Maulden for a timely and inspiring Zoom event!
Over 2 dozen women came together on Zoom on May 23 for the second ANEW2 gathering from all around the diocese, and Province 7!
Dean Kristi Maulden of the Cathedral used Psalms 42 and 43 to explore the idea of Lament and Hope that is found in many psalms. Maulden told the attendees that Lament Psalms always have Hope attached.
The women present shared their ideas about where God is found at this time. Dean Kristi also shared some drawings by Cathedral youth with their ideas of where they see God.
Maulden encouraged each of us to speak, and even write, our Lament to God. We can let our complaint(s) be known to God and then Listen for the Response of Hope.
After her talk, Dean Kristi asked everyone to share where they have see Hope in recent events. In closing she told us about a pair of herons who are nesting in the yard of her Oklahoma house. Herons symbolize being content in turbulent times.

Make plans to join the discussion on June 27 when we'll explore "Worship Beyond Church Walls" with Linda Rounds-Nichols from Holy Spirit, Gallup.
