The June ANEW2 gathering of the Women of the Diocese of the Rio Grande was led by Fr. Dan Tuton and Mtr. Pat Green. With their background in counseling they were able to share insights, tips, and things to consider as we return to an increasingly 'normal' post-COVID life. They both reminded us to always remember that each of us is at a different place in our comfort and health, and in our family situation of who we may want to wear a mask to protect. It is perfectly OK to decline an invitation if you feel unsafe or unsure. It is also OK, and even important, to be able to state and maintain your own boundaries in a kind and unconfrontational way. It was noted that this can be difficult when those around seem to be ignoring health and safety, and/or being confrontational.
Pat shared a couple of informational charts regarding COVID risk relating to certain activities from the CDC and the TX Medical Assoc. You can download them for your information. Slides from the presentation are also available.
You can watch the video (apologies for missing the opening prayer--I hit record a bit late):
Remember, July 24 is our PICNIC (Partners in Christ/Neighbors in Community) event. Think of a friend or 2 to invite to this diocese wide Zoom gathering. Some ideas of who to invite might be your DOK chapter, your Bible study ladies, your neighbors, or someone who hasn’t been able to meet via Zoom with other women of the diocese during COVID!
All the small groups will join in the regular diocesan Zoom to share a fun, informal time eating together, games, and sharing how we are Partners in Christ, Neighbors in Community.
RSVP to Cindy by July 10 and get a PICNIC 'basket' with some fun supplies for the event.
